palestin

Hamid Dabashi
I saw a video of some Israelis singing and dancing last night to the tune that today schools in Gaza will be closed because there are no Palestinian children to go to school (http://palsolidarity.org/2014/07/video-israelis-in-tel-aviv-chanting-theres-no-school-tomorrow-theres-no-children-left-in-gaza-oleh/)--may Israeli schools never be closed except for joyous holidays, and may not a single Israeli child ever suffer the way Palestinian children are suffering now--and may one day all children in Palestine, from the sea to the river--Jewish, Christian, Muslim, or otherwise--sit in the same classrooms and read Mahmoud Darwish and Yehuda Amichai back to back--(Picture: Palestinian Children in Shatila Refugee Camp, Beirut--Photo by Golbarg Bashi, late June 2006, a few days before the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in July 2006)--
